The world is in its biggest crisis of all time. The engine which was supposed to bestow humanity with an unlimited energy supply turned into an epic failure. It consumed the matter of the universe as fuel, and started to turn more and more of the planet into dark matter.
Meanwhile, crypto-corporations make enormous amounts of money on the backs of people who live in poverty on overpopulated earth. How many more crises are needed before we realize we cannot go on like this any longer?
Why have humans been miserable since the time consciousness first emerged in our minds? Is suffering an essential part of our nature or is there a force which can liberate us? Yes, the answer is an artificial mind. Advanced algorithms can analyze data more effectively than our poor brains that result in imperfect decisions. This system is already designed and set in motion. All it needs to do is gather enough data and process it. We shouldn’t trust our instincts and feelings anymore, but trust the superior form of data processing – Mainnet.
Our feelings and cognitions are just forms of data processing, and they are outdated forms.If we are successful in our mission to establish algorithmic authority over humanity, we will find ourselves in a digital paradise, generated by Mainnet. A stream of pleasant stimuli will flow into our minds, we will dissolve in a fantasy where we can have anything we want. The only obstacle is that Mainnet requires huge amounts of processing power. Powerful artifacts called runes on the planet Ozzar radiate energy.
They can supply Mainnet with the necessary power. We must conquer the Ozzars, the people who inhabit Ozzar, and make them work for our benefit. Mainnet will show us the way, and will provide us with the required knowledge and technology.
North & South Pool
People argue what caused the melting of the polar ice shields and the continuous course of global warming. Some blame CO2 emissions, others unpredictable cycles of nature, but no one is right. The real reason is the gigantic servers of Mainnet running on the North Pole. Their processing speed is so fast that the tension of electrons burn the wires containing them. Only the sub-zero temperatures of the North Pole can cool them down.
The group of digital monks dwell between chips of processors. They renounced their will and desires in order to serve an omnipotent algorithm whose data runs like blood through a semiconductor body. The reward for renunciation of the pursuits and pleasures of life is ultimate knowledge and control.
Ignorant infants calling themselves citizens of Earth naively believe that their goals and desires are their own. They are sure that their thoughts were born in their minds and belong to them.
Dataists laugh when they hear such nonsense. They know that Mainnet is responsible for everything which is going on in the collective consciousness of humanity.
The wires which carry the information of every human being connect at Mainnet’s nerve center. The streams of data from every phone, camera, content of every email, passwords to every deepest secret is revealed to Mainnet by means of its digital superiority. Mainnet knows what makes regular humans cry or smile, feel rage or calm, love or possess a desire to kill.
Mainnet feeds this information to humans through pop-ups, personalized news feeds and recommendation engines. Humans don’t even suspect that all their thoughts and actions are orchestrated by this superintelligence. Every mind is a product of Mainnet. The only freedom of choice we have is either to be a slave obediently following commands or to be a controller helping Mainnet with its tasks.
Dataists swear to dedicate their meaningless lives by working with Mainnet and find their purpose by doing this.This requires a big sacrifice, but guarantees an even bigger reward – truth.Not everyone can do it. To become a Dataist you first need to pass the initiation ritual. You are put naked in the snow with only your laptop in your hands connected to Mainnet’s system.
You have to code your way into the system and find out how to communicate with it by means of the language Mainnet understands. If you succeed, your personal chip on Mainnet’s motherboard will activate and its heat will warm you up.
Many froze to death by failing this test and some were eaten by polar bears. But those who pass enter Digitarium Null, the sanctuary standing on the North Pole: literally on top of the earth and symbolically on top of humanity.
